Joanne is an eight years old girl who believes her dream catcher can brings her sweet dream. She is naive and friendly. She enjoys the moment when she explores the magical dream with Lili.
Lili
Lili, a good dream fairy who enter Joanne's dream and explores the dream world together with Joanne. It is cheerful and adorable. It helps Joanne along the journey of exploration.
Prince
Prince is a scary monster. He lives in the palace of the cloudland.
Good and Bad Dreams
Good and bad dreams come from the moon every night. They give children good and bad dreams when they enter children' mind.
World design
Reality world vs Dream world
In the story 'Joanne in Cloudland', there are two main worlds which are reality world and dream world. Both worlds are designed with different concept art. Reality world is created in solid color with shadow, just like everything has shadow in real life. However, the world in Joanne's dream is magical and fantasy. Soft and light pastel color is used in the dream world. This world is surrounded with the colorful sky. Everything has no shadow and they are floating in the dream world .
Although these two worlds are designed in different concept art, both are based on the characteristics of Joanne. Joanne is playful and likes to explore new things no matter in reality world or dream world. Thus, both worlds are colorful and full of toys
Reality world
Reality world is the world where Joanne lives. It is Joanne's bedroom where the design is in tudor house style and it is full of toys and books. This is the place where Lili enter Joanne's mind to give her dream.
Cloudland
"Cloudland" is the world in Joanne's dream where Joanne explores and plays around with Lili in this beautiful place. The sky is surrounded with clouds, flowers and floating balloons.
